Country Club Heights Celebrates Veteran’s Day with Patriotic Bagpipe Concert, Singing Resident’s Chorale and New Flag Pole Gift
Woburn, MA – Country Club Heights retirement community is celebrating Veteran’s Day with a flag raising ceremony and patriotic bagpipe concert by Chuck Carnell at 11am on November 10th, 2008. Chief Warrant Officer Charles Bevilaqua will raise the first flag on a new flagpole and speak in honor of local veterans, as the Country Club Heights Chorale, under the direction of Dottie DiDomenico, sing songs celebrating America. Many residents at Country Club Heights are veterans from World War I and World War II, and several of the community’s associates have family or friends fighting in Iraq.
“A ceremony such as this is a proud moment when we can all reflect on the sacrifices given by veterans for our country and share with each other the common bond of unity and freedom,” said Country Club Height’s Executive Director Jean DeThomas R.N. She added, “The culmination of a new President, and Veteran’s Day gift of a new flagpole and flag give special meaning to the celebration at Country Club Heights. We gratefully accepted and installed the new flagpole which was the generous gift of a resident who wishes to remain anonymous.”
